youtube-logo-full_color-2I won’t be posting any new content on rustyshell.com for a while, I’m busy working on a YouTube channel.

rustyshell will live on through the channel, and through twitter until the channel is ready sometime in 2017.

Thanks to everyone who supported me with this project over the last five years.

I might be back to cover the NX reveal (might not be able to resist), but until then, take care and happy gaming!

PS. I am going to get the remainder of my Top 10 Games Of All Time list posted in the next month or two.

logo_starfox_zeroI’m back, and just in time for Star Fox Zero’s Australian release this Saturday, April 23.

Big W has the game for $64, which is the best price I’ve seen so far.

You can get the “first print” edition that includes a physical copy of Star Fox Guard from both JB Hi Fi and EB Games for $99.

The first print edition is (at this stage) the only way to own a physical copy of Star Fox Guard.

But is it worth an extra thirty or so bucks?

Many JB Hi-Fi stores do really cool freehand signage, but this one at my local store is some of the best I’ve seen.

It’s awesome that JB let their staff express themselves creatively like this, and while ad-hoc signage can look tacky, this one looks unreal.

gblogoA Giant Bomb forum post entitled What are your biggest “I’m an idiot” revelations in games? has thrown up some of the funniest, most satisfying responses I have ever read.

It also made me feel like less of an idiot as I realized people have made the same mistakes I have.

I had to share the link, so take a look at it here– it’s so worth it.

See you then!

New South Wales, Australia is home to a LOT of poker machines.

Per capita in Sydney, there’s more video gambling machines than any other city in the world, including Las Vegas and Macau.

I was hanging with the rest of the cool people at my local Leagues club the other day, when a particular machine caught my eye.

The giant curved LCD screen is mesmerising

Flashing lights, huge curved screen, and Bullet Bill! Resistance was futile.

I snapped a few pics after I wasted $20 playing the stupid thing.

The giant LCD screen is mesmerising, but that's no what caught my eye

He’ll take your money and blow you to pieces just ‘cos he can.

Rip-off or coincidence?

Rip-off or coincidence?

A coincidence? I don’t think so, what do you think?

Leave it to Nintendo to give us a reason to enjoy the great outdoors even more.

Watch this incredibly slick Pokemon GO trailer, like 4.5 million people already have since it went up on YouTube 23 hours ago.

Then tell me you’re not batshit excited about the potential of Nintendo’s first Android/iOS app.

Have a go at the box art for Super Mario Maker and tell me there’s not a sneaky nod to Bob The Builder.

It’s sad times indeed when one of the few highlights of an entire E3 is some box art for a game we’ve known about for ages- but how can you look at Mario in this get up and not be reminded that all’s right in the world?

I lifted the graphic below from an article I read at oxcgn.com, reminding us to keep our faith in the company we’ve stuck by for so long and who at the end of the day, deliver us the very best gaming experiences time and time again.

It’s like Fashion Police for Nintendo fans. Fox looks awful, Mario looks fantastic, even if his look has been done before

It’s like Fashion Police for Nintendo fans. Fox looks awful, Mario looks fantastic, even if his look has been done before.

I hope you’ll read it, because Nintendo as an ideal and as a business needs more people like Yvan Zivkovic who aren’t afraid to stand in their truth as Nintendo fans and serious gamers.

I count myself as one of those people, and that’s one of the main reasons rustyshell.com even exists.

Can Mario fix Nintendo? Yes he can, and while we’ll soon forget about the disappointment this year’s E3 was met with, I can see why so many people have become disillusioned with the Nintendo they once new.

Not me though, I’m here till the end.

Spoilers ahead.

While I was initially against two beings fighting as a team in Mortal Kombat X, after beating the game with Ferra/Torr I changed my tune.

Their epilogue, told in a series of still frames with a voiceover, is a tragic tale that will leave you strangely moved and a little bit heartbroken.

Have a look at the video below courtesy of Youtube user JakNak, but remember it can’t be un-watched and if you’re planning to play through Mortal Kombat X, don’t watch it.

eshopNintendo’s confusing but generous promotion that started at the launch of Wii U two years ago, is about to come to an end.

If you have a black Wii U and are an avid eShop user you’re probably already across this promotion and what it entails.

If not, read my guide explaining everything and remember you’ve got until December 31 to accumulate points, and until March to redeem them for eShop codes.
